Citizen's Outreach Program
The original need for an ‘Outreach Program’ as it is today, was identified by the Nanaimo Citizen Advocacy staff in 2003. As we have been providing services for the past 40 some years in this community, today, this need is identified by the growing numbers. Clients and their families are described as people at risk, disenfranchised &/or marginalized. Many suffer from wasting diseases, have mental health, behavioral disorders, physical disabilities &/or learning disabilities which prevent them from being contributing members to our community &/or their families. The affect on their family unit is devastating both emotionally & financially.
The mandate of this society has always been the independence with dignity of our clients and our goal is to empower the people that we serve so they can be contributing members to their family unit & community.
